The quickest check: if you can see the tops of your ceiling joists when you look across the attic, you're low. That's usually somewhere under 6 inches. The free inspection gives you the exact depth either way, and if you don't need the work we'll tell you that.
Usually not. A top-off blows fresh fiberglass directly over what's already there, which is why it's the cheaper job. Full removal is only necessary when there's water damage, rodent contamination, or mold — and we'll show you why if that's the situation.
